Table salt for cooking is a no-no, says every amazing chef you will ever want to meet.
Seriously, leave the table salt on the table and add Kosher salt to your spice collection. If this is news to you, then keep reading! Salt has a fascinating history – and humans need it to live.
I’m passionate about salt because its been used in cooking for thousands of years and is a staple in cooking, yet it seems like this understanding table salt and kosher salt is information least shared to other aspiring cooks.
Imagine how terrible is it to be starving for lunch and, when you’re finally served, its far too salty to eat!
To give the restaurant the benefit of doubt, I assume some new employee in the kitchen thought iodized salt was equivalent to kosher salt. It’s an innocent mistake – but I can and do blame them. You can see and taste the difference.
Deepening your understanding and relationship with salt by way of information changes your reality for the positive – now that you are armed with new ways and new knowledge to impress friends and family in the kitchen!
For that, I’m grateful.
Are you ready for pepper?
